Butte:
Bert Mooney Field (406) 494-3771—60 miles (1hour) from the lodge
Serviced by SkyWest/Delta (800-221-1212) and Horizon/Alaska (800-547-9380)
Leaving the airport, take a left onto Harrison Ave. Drive about 1 mile
and turn left onto Hwy 2. Drive 21 miles and turn right onto Hwy 41.
Drive 12 miles to the ‘T’ in the road, and turn right onto
Hwy 55. Go straight through Silver Star, Twin Bridges, Sheridan, and
Laurin. The lodge is 1/4 mile past Laurin on the right (there’s
a small sign). If you reach Alder, you’ve gone too far.
Bozeman:
Gallatin Field (406) 388-8321—75 miles (1.5 hours) from the
lodge
Serviced by Northwest (800-225-2525), United (800-241-6522), SkyWest/Delta
(800-221-1212) and Horizon/Alaska (800-547-9380)
Turn right out of the airport, and come into Belgrade. Turn left at
the 4-way stop in town, and follow this road as it crosses the tracks,
curves around to the right, and comes to a stoplight at Jackrabbit Lane.
Turn left, cross I-90, and continue 7 miles to the first stoplight,
at Four Corners. Turn right on Hwy 84, and follow this road to where
it ends at a ‘T’ at Norris. Turn left in Norris onto Hwy 287,
and come into Ennis. Bear right in Ennis at the bronze fisherman statue,
to go up and over the pass to Virginia City. Come through VA and Nevada
cities, and through Alder. The lodge is 1 mile past Alder on your left
(there’s a small sign). If you reach Laurin, you’ve gone too
far.
Private Airstrips & Directions
Dillon:
Dillon Flying Services (406) 683-5242—45 miles (40 minutes)
from the lodge
Dillon is our most commonly-used airstrip for private and chartered
flights (there is no commercial service). It has a 6500’ runway,
paved and lighted, with fuel service available. Turn right out of the
airport onto Hwy 41, and drive into Twin Bridges. Turn right in Twin
to get onto Hwy 287, and drive 20 miles through Sheridan and Laurin.
The lodge is _ mile past Laurin on the right (there’s a small sign).
If you reach Alder, you’ve gone too far.
Twin
Bridges: Twin Bridges Landing Strip (406) 684-5866—20
miles (15 minutes) from the lodge
This strip also only supports private and chartered aircraft. It has
a 4300’ paved and lighted runway, but no fuel services. Turn left
out of the airport onto Hwy 287, and drive through Sheridan and Laurin.
The lodge is _ mile past Laurin on the right (there’s a small sign).
If you reach Alder, you’ve gone too far.
Ennis:
Ennis Landing Strip (406) 682-4297—30 miles (25 minutes) from the
lodge
This strip also only supports private and chartered aircraft. It has
a 4700’ paved and lighted runway with fuel services. Turn right
out of the airport onto Hwy 287, and follow 287 through VA City and
Alder. The lodge is 1 mile past Alder on your left (there’s a small
sign). If you reach Laurin, you’ve gone too far.
