The Local Weather:
Daily temperatures during spring and fall range from the low 30’s to the mid 70’s, with the average being about 65 degrees. Daily summer temperatures range from the low 40’s to the mid 90’s, with the average being around 82 degrees. Evening temps are considerably lower any time of year. Storms tend to come and go quickly, so bringing rain gear even on sunny mornings is recommended. The dress attire for dinner is comfortable evening casual.

Recommended Clothing and Gear (in addition to your standard personal items):
sturdy rain coat mid-weight warm coat and/or fleece pullover
two pairs of warm socks
mid-weight polypro (or similar) long underwear
long sleeve shirt (for sun or cold)
baseball or fishing hat and a warm hat (wool or fleece)
polarized sunglasses, camera
bug repellant and sunscreen

Recommended Fishing Gear:
The lodge offers guests the use of Sage, Winston and Redington fly rods, Simms and Redington waders, and Simms wading boots and summer wading sandals. Also, the lodge shop is fully-stocked with an assortment of fishing tackle, clothing, and gift items. If you would like to bring your own gear, as many anglers do, here are some suggestions:
4, 5, or 6 weight fly rod with floating line
chest waders (gore-tex, or microfiber are best)
wading shoes (such as felt-soled wading boots or Tevas)
vest, net, hat, polarized sunglasses

Commonly Used Flies:
We supply flies as part of the standard fishing package, but if you tie your own or would like to bring some basics, here’s our list of fly patterns that produce well on area rivers:
elk hair caddis (size 12-18)
stimulator (size 10-18)
grasshopper patterns (size 6-12)
parachute adams (size 14-18)
salmonfly patterns (size 4)
hare's ear (size 12-18)
prince nymph (size 12-16)
pheasant tail (size 12-18)
